Fermented spontaneously and matured for 11 months sur lie in demi-muids (600-liter barrels) the 2011 Montlouis Les Choisilles is a rich, complex and persistent dry Chenin Blanc of great purity and salinity. Sourced from 100-year-old vines in different parcels in flint and limestone solis this powerful and vital love-me-or-leave-me ascète, with its white fruit and lime flavors, is extremely mineral and long and still on its very promising way. I would not touch it for the next 3 or 4 years, but there will be plenty of possibilities to match the wine with fish, sausages and goat’s cheese until 2025. 94 points
